thefluffanutta has created a great lens: Squidoo Guide: Linking Tips.
It’s not a very big lens, but it includes some good tips for linking to parts of your lens that may not be obvious, such as a particular module.
There are also several utility links on every lens that you can improve upon by making them more obvious on your lens. These include Add to Favorites, Join my Fanclub, Lensroll, Contact Lensmaster, and one he missed: Email this lens.
I’ve updated my lensography for John Dilbeck and added a new module right after the intro with the utility links.
I don’t think anyone is going to miss the buttons.
What do you think? Useful, too much, or what?
You’re free to copy the code I used and modify it to suit your needs.
Please host the graphics on your own server or wherever you store images.
Do you think this adds value to the lens or detracts from it?

I think it’s too much to put up promotionary stuff right on top - before people have even got an idea of how good your lens is.

Hi Spirituality,
Thanks for the feedback.
I can understand your point of view and mostly agree with it.
However, my experience may be a bit different than yours. Are you on broadband?
Back here in the mountains, the only access I have is slow dial-up - about 24K most days.
So, on the larger lenses, or lenses with several RSS modules and/or polls, the right column never loads for me.
Sometimes I have to reload a lens I really like several times before I can get to the links to favorite it.
Now that I know how to make the favorite it link for any lens, that’s not as much of a problem for me as it once was.
So, I like putting the utility links in the left column, or at least above the ads in the right column.
But, still, perhaps those large buttons are too much, too soon.
Thanks.
